New Printmaking Year, New Website, New Blog!

Updated: Jan 15, 2023

Thanks to all of you who have supported and followed me this far. I am, by no means, a prolific printmaker, but I love doing it so will continue!

I think the same can be said of whatever makes you happy in life, just keep doing it.

The new website serves as a point of contact, gallery and possibly a shop. For now please contact me if you wish to buy anything or create a commission.

I can't make any New Years resolutions about great projects or ideas, but whenever I come up with something new or feel the urge to share something it will make it to my monthly blog.

Prints in the making

I've now got so many images I need to make prints from, that it does overwhelm. My day job dictates the hours I can draw, cut and print. It teaches me that my best tool to achieve is to list and prioritise. Very boring, but the spontaneity and fun comes with the printing so I'll do the admin to move me forward. If you feel like it, drop me a line to tell me how you choose what tasks to do first - lists, favourite or least favourite things first, shorter tasks first?

First Print - inspiration

The Image above is my first completed print run of the year, an image that will be familiar to those who have visited Mull - Salen | The Isle of Mull (isle-of-mull.net). It was my first visit to Mull last year and it won't be my last. An incredible island even in the February gales!

If you're short of inspiration ( a topic discussed on many printmaking forums), go somewhere you've never been and let your brain feel something new.

Finally if you want something to do in Glasgow on a rainy day you need to catch The Love of Print at the Kelvingrove Art Galleries, It's a celebration of 50 years of printmaking at Glasgow Print Studio - a studio set up by artists in the early 70's. Click on the button below to find out more. I look forward to sharing thoughts, ideas and new work with you.
