BIO

My formal design training and immersion in Glasgow and Argyll's creative community has given me my love of printmaking.

I work on my kitchen table with the simplest of equipment, linocut lends itself to this low tech approach. So much of my learning has been trial an error. It's been a real journey of discovery.

I love to try all kinds of ways of making marks - on paper, wood, walls - the list is endless. Lino cut  involves the physical act of cutting and carving, which in turn gives you the relief image to create your print. At this point you have some idea of what will come out once inked and printed, but it isn't until the first print is pulled that you can see the fruit of your labours for the first time. I love this process and although you always have a final image in mind, it can change greatly from first cut to final print depending on the marks made and the journey taken along the way

My current project is to create prints based on interiors that I love in Argyll and beyond, and details of architecture and landscape locally and in some of my favourite places. I am expanding to printing on fabric, but this may take some time to perfect!
